The Japanese American National Museum (JANM) is grateful to have had significant input on this project from two widely respected scholars:

Art Hansen is professor emeritus of History and Asian American Studies at California State University, Fullerton, where he retired in 2008 as director of the Center for Oral and Public History. From 2001 to 2005, Hansen served as JANM’s senior historian. He continues to consult for and advise the museum on an array of projects.

Lloyd Inui is professor emeritus in the department of Asian and Asian American Studies at California State University, Long Beach. He has acted as an advisor to JANM since 1996, consulting on numerous projects that include Exploring America’s Concentration Camps; JANM’s on-going exhibition, Common Ground: The Heart of Community; the Fighting for Democracy: Who is the “We” in “We, the People”? educational initiative; and JANM’s four national conferences.
